Solar Power Grant Money from the Government: How to Get It

Grant money from the government for using solar power at home is a great incentive for anyone to go green and start using renewable energy for the future.  Whether it is solar or wind power these grants are available to anyone who decides to take the plunge.  These money grants are available from the governments both in the US and in Canada.  Information on this funding may be hard to find so that is why I am writing this post.  If you have been looking into installing a solar power and or wind powered generator system into you existing home than we have found some great info to tell you about.

Just recently, the United States has announced that there will be some major grants offered to homeowners who are willing to make their homes more energy efficient and more green friendly.  If this is already your goal, than these grants can be a perfect combination.

So what steps do you need to take nest?

1. Find the appropriate grants for your specific state
2. You can also find federal and municipal grants online
3. Have someone help you with all of the complicated jargon that is in the fine print
4. Fill out the forms with all the right information

It can be a really difficult process in trying to locate the right grants for your situation, and as we all know, anytime the government is involved in something there is going to be a lot of paper work to fill out, and so it is with solar power grants as well.

I was looking everywhere trying to find my grant.  Looking in newspapers, government websites and anywhere I could online, I soon found how hard this really was.  I soon found a few directories that listed some solar grants and sites where you could get more info on grant money.  I did find a great resource that was a big help in my search.  They had done their homework and found instances of homeowners  who had actually received their grant money.

Some grants will pay over $10,000 dollars but most cases there was given less.  But any amount of help for paying for those expensive solar panels will be appreciated.  Once your paper work goes through you should be able to get your money in about 5-6 weeks.   It was so exciting to get this check.    With electricity bills expected to double this coming year it is more important than ever to find ways to reduce energy costs.
