More and more people are searching for information on the best way to get cheap solar power in homes. This is because many people are appreciating the fact that there is a shortage in power since the population is consuming the non renewable sources of energy at a high rate. This has brought about a high increased demand in the supply of power and the environment is giving constant warnings on climate change.
Five years ago, affordable solar power in homes was not even a topic of discussion. Today, this has become a necessity and more people are getting DIY [...] Continue Reading…

Solar power pros and cons can be a list that goes on and on, but here are a few of the basics you should know about solar power, especially if you plan on using solar panels to power your home. Are the costs really worth it? How much energy can you really produce? What laws do I need to worry about?
Cons of Solar Power: the Disadvantages
The Cost.
The sheer cost of solar panels will stop many people from ever getting them. Right now, only the rich can afford the solar panels which are supposed to be saving you money. So [...] Continue Reading…

There are entire solar energy systems you can buy for your home and it will cost you anywhere from $5,000 for a starter kit to $25,000 for something that can actually run your home off the power of the sun. With these units costing so much money, I have found many turning to cheaper alternatives.
If you want to use solar power in your home and not rely on the power company you can do just that for WAY less money. In fact, with all of the technology at our finger tips right now it would be insane to spend [...] Continue Reading…

I have been in contact with Byron Walker who is the creator of GreenDIYEnergy and he and his team have just added some great new products to their product. It was already the best guide on how to build solar panels on the internet, but with these new additions it is by far the best choice in going green at home.
So what is new with Green DIY Energy?
Well now you have the option of ordering a CD along with your ebook so you have something in hand. It will be mailed to your home and the CD is [...] Continue Reading…

Learning how to install solar electric panels can take a bit of a learning curve but I have found one of the best courses online for getting it right the first time. There are a ton of guides out there that will “attempt” to teach you how to build your own solar panel, but most of us just want to know how to actually be able to use the things!
Building a solar panel is nothing if you don’t know how to tie it into the grid of your house, or how you can connect all the solar panels together [...] Continue Reading…

Grant money from the government for using solar power at home is a great incentive for anyone to go green and start using renewable energy for the future. Whether it is solar or wind power these grants are available to anyone who decides to take the plunge. These money grants are available from the governments both in the US and in Canada. Information on this funding may be hard to find so that is why I am writing this post. If you have been looking into installing a solar power and or wind powered generator system into you existing [...] Continue Reading…

Are you using a solar powered attic fan in your house? If not you may want to do a little bit of research. The heat that build up in an attic can be unbearable to walk around in, but it can also cost you a lot of money if you just let that air sit up there. Without proper attic ventilation, your attic will just radiate heat through the ceilings and floors of your home and drive the AC costs way up.
Another problem caused by improper ventilation can also occur in the winter time. When [...] Continue Reading…

Here is a really amazing video I found of a guy named Mike how is using solar and hydrogen power to provide enough power for his entire house and a few extra amenaties as well. He never has to buy power again and a few years ago he stopped getting power from the electric company because he makes more power than he could ever use. By having 56 solar panels on a roof and a whole system of using hydrogen power he is an inspiration to anyone wanting to go green.
He can get 10 Kilowatts of energy from his [...] Continue Reading…

When you think of solar power you may only think of solar panels that can convert the suns light into electricity, but there is a new surge in solar thermal energy that is very exciting. This type of power uses the heat generated by the sun to turn water into super heated steam which in turn will turn a turbine which converts this into electricity for consumption.
How is this achieved? Mirrors, and lots of them. Bright Source Energy is the company that has spear headed a project in Israel and also in the Mojave desert and had a lot [...] Continue Reading…

Making Cheap, Inexpensive DIY Solar Panels at Home
Mike Davis is an astronomer. To practice his hobby away from the light-pollution of cities, he bought some land in a remote part of Arizona. But there was a problem: No electricity…. But he’s a resourceful fellow. He built some home-made solar panels using inexpensive blemished and damaged solar cells from eBay! That might be even cooler, though less romantic, than the couple who got their solar panels via their wedding registry.
Read on for more photos and some technical details to give you an idea of how he did it.
I bought a [...] Continue Reading…
